The first edition of the weekly Jordanian newspaper Al-Sijill  was launched on  8 November 2007. Its chairman of the board of directors is Mustafa Hamarinah, who is a researcher at the Political and Strategic Studies Centre of the University of Jordan, the founder and a former director of the centre, and the former chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Television Corporation.

The publication of Al-Sijill is the fruit of the continuous efforts over the past two years  by its founders who consist of prominent Jordanian figures and the corresponding effort of a number of editors.

The publication of Al Sijill has  enriched the media scene and upgraded its performance level and shared the Jordanian newspapers' aspirations and efforts to place their local press within the Arab media accomplishment befitting the 21st century.
