Assabahia, a new Arabic-language newspaper, hit Moroccan newsstands on 3 September 2007. With the same cover price as the country's other dailies (2.5 dirhams), Assabahia is part of the Maroc Soir group that also owns Le Matin du Sahara and Assahra Al Maghrebia. Assabahia launched with a circulation of 35 000.
Four of the newspaper's sixteen pages are dedicated to sports and four others are devoted to social issues. Assabahia has 20 staff journalists plus freelancers and correspondents.
